Online Training Offers Tools for Spreading the Word About Tax Credits for Working Families
Through a two-part series of online webinars, the National Women’s Law Center is working to reach out to low-income taxpayers that may qualify for certain tax credits but are unaware of their eligibility.
The first webinar, titled “Tax Credits: What Working Families Need to Know” will take place on Wednesday, Nov. 6 at 1:00 p.m. Eastern and will cover the basic facts about valuable state and federal tax credits for working families like the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC), Child Tax Credit and Child and Dependent Care Credit. The session will also offer basic tips for sharing information about these credits with working families.
The second webinar, “Tax Credits Outreach: Tips and Tools for Advocates,” is scheduled for Tuesday, Nov. 12 at 1:00 p.m. Eastern and will provide free outreach materials, information on connecting with local coalitions, ways to find free tax preparation services in your community and additional techniques for spreading the word about tax credits.
Both webinars are free of charge, but viewers must register beforehand to participate. If you work or volunteer in an organization that serves low- or middle-income families, register now to learn new tools for spreading the word about the value of tax credits for working families.
