Join Us at an EITC Congressional Briefing on Thursday, January 24th
Tax Credits for Working Families will partner with the National Community Tax Coalition and several other national organizations to host a Congressional briefing in Washington, D.C. on the importance of the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) on Thursday, January 24.
The briefing, titled “Together Strengthening Working Families: The Federal & State Earned Income Tax Credits,” will take place on the eve of EITC Awareness Day and will address how the credit encourages work and helps families pay for basic necessities and become more financially secure. Speakers will also discuss the important relationship between state and federal EITCs and what steps can be taken to strengthen these programs.
The panel presentation will include remarks by TCWF’s Debbie Stein, an EITC recipient, a Volunteer Income Tax Assistance service provider, and Roxy Caines of the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities.
