Top Story: A new report from the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities (CBPP) examined early data on the impact of the expanded Child Tax Credit (CTC), recommending that federal economic recovery legislation should make the expansion permanent for the lowest-income families, many of whom were ineligible for the credit before the expansion.   • Code for America recently launched a free, mobile-friendly website available in English and Spanish for eligible families to sign up for the expanded CTC. The site, GetCTC.org is the result of the nonprofit’s collaboration with the White House and U.S. Department of the Treasury. (CNBC)
  • A new survey published in the Yale Journal on Regulation asked tax law professors their views on tax reforms under consideration by the Biden administration, finding that 60.8% support expanding the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) and 64.2% support expanding the Child and Dependent Care Tax Credit (CDCTC).
