Top Story: As part of his presidential campaign, U.S. Senator Cory Booker (D-N.J.) unveiled a policy plan to reduce child poverty. The plan includes a proposal to expand the federal Child Tax Credit (CTC) to give families $300 monthly per child under 5 years old. (The New York Times)
- As part of her presidential campaign, U.S. Senator Kamala Harris (D-Calif.) unveiled “Kamala’s Children’s Agenda,” which aims to cut child poverty in the country in half. The plan includes proposals to expand federal refundable tax credits by passing the federal Working Families Tax Relief Act and other proposals to modernize tax credits.
